Brett Keating, Euphonium

Bio

Before the age of 24, Brett has already concertized all around the U.S. in Switzerland and Germany. As a native of Oconomowoc, Wisconsin, Brett now lives several time zones away as he resides in Luzern, Switzerland. Currently, Brett is pursuing a Masters Degree in euphonium performance with the world renowned euphoniumist and pedagogue Thomas Rüedi.

Brett had the distinct privilege to study under yet another world renowed pedagogue, composer and dear friend John Stevens while completing his Bachelors in euphonium performance at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.

Brett has many different musical interests, but a particular interest in chamber music. Brett is a founding member of MadTown LowDown, a tuba quartet from the University of Wisconsin that has performed and competed in many different states and competitions. Some of their awards include the Judges' Special Recognition Award at the Plowman Chamber Music Compeition and 2nd place at the southeastern Reagional Tuba Euphonium Conference quartet competition. 

Since 2006, Brett has served as a member of the 132nd Army Band of the Wisconsin National Guard, performing throughout the country. 

 He also maintains an active career as a freelance trombonist and tubist.
